What to Expect From The Tweed Winter Open Day!

Are you as excited as us about the upcoming Tweed Winter Open Day?!

Taking place on Sunday 17th July, 6 of our premium wedding venues will be opening their doors for an epic (and completely free!) day filled with wedding inspiration. The annual Winter Open Day is the perfect way to explore our venues at your own pace, while soaking up everything the Tweed Coast has to offer.

Ancora

If you’re looking for a waterfront wedding venue, you’ll definitely want to add Ancora to your itinerary.

Situated at Tweed Heads overlooking the Terranora Inlet, this light-filled venue will be open from 10am – 2pm with a bunch of amazing suppliers on board. The team at Brookies Gin will also be serving up some complimentary cocktails, so you can enjoy a cheeky G&T while you explore the venue. Plus, be sure to take advantage of a special venue discount for bookings made on the day.

Offering something truly unique, Byron based artist Miila Bijou will be offering live portrait drawings of couples for purchase on the day, with part of the funds donated to Coraki Project, as part of their Flood Relief Initiatives. This ten year creative is truly an inspiration, so be sure to stop in to Ancora to support a local artist and contribute to the flood relief efforts, while being able to walk away with an amazing art portrait of you and your love!

If you’re up for a spot of sightseeing, Tweed Eco Cruises will be operating a 1-hour boat cruise at 12pm, so you’ll be able to check out the nearby ceremony spots and secret photo locations. Departing from 2 River Terrace, Tweed Heads, it’s just a short walk from Ancora, or parking available at the dock. No bookings required – it will be first in, best dressed!

Head over to the bustling town of Kingscliff and enjoy beachfront views at Babalou! This incredible coastal space will be open between 10am – 2pm, and styled to perfection by a bunch of lovely local suppliers.

There’s plenty on offer for Winter Open Day attendees, including complimentary bubbles and nibbles, cake tastings, live entertainment and a live photo shoot. You’ll have the opportunity to meet some of the industry’s finest, with some epic specials for on the day bookings.

The first 30 brides through the door will also receive a complimentary gift, so we recommend getting there early!

Be sure to visit the rolling hills of the Tweed Valley to check out this hidden gem! Bellingdale Farm will be open from 11am – 4pm, and some amazing local suppliers will be showcasing their talents on the day.

Enjoy everything this charming countryside wedding venue has to offer, with expansive views of Mount Warning and the surrounding valleys. There will be live music, a pop-up dessert bar and plenty of styling ideas to be inspired by for your special day.

Take a drive up to Duranbah between 11am – 3pm to tour the stunning Fins at Plantation House. The entire venue will be set to impress, with teams of suppliers working together to create beautifully styled spaces across the front lawn, back garden and undercover reception area.

Visitors will be able to tour the venue and chat to suppliers while enjoying live music and pop-up food and beverage stations. Keep an eye out for exclusive offers from suppliers for any bookings made on the day.

Tucked away in the quiet coastal town of Casuarina, Osteria will be opening their doors between 11am and 3pm with a bevy of incredible local suppliers showcasing their talents.

Explore the private courtyard garden and modern Refinery Hall before enjoying a complimentary cocktail from the team at Brookies Gin inside the hidden Whiskey Bar, including the Easy Mac (macadamia liqueur on ice, with a lime wedge – a nice sipper for a winter’s day!).

Couples will also be able to nab an exclusive discount on venue bookings made on the day.
