Whether you’re planning an off-site ceremony or an intimate elopement, we thought this would be the perfect time to revisit some of our favourite local spots to say your I-dos. Keep reading as we round up our hands-down, top 10 best ceremony locations on the Tweed Coast below!
LOVERS ROCK // TWEED HEADS
With a backdrop of rugged clifftops, pandanus trees and ocean views, Lovers Rock is a hidden gem nestled right on the QLD/NSW border in Tweed Heads. Conveniently situated close to an abundance of local accommodation options (and just a stone’s throw away from nearby venues such as Ancora), the space features a large grassed area overlooking the ocean – perfect for couples planning an open-air ceremony. You will require a permit, which can be easily obtained via the Tweed Shire Council.

SUMMERGROVE CHAPEL // CAROOL
Perched high on a hill in Carool, you couldn’t ask for a more picturesque location than the Summergrove Estate Chapel. Offering lush hinterland views at every turn, this beautifully designed chapel offers an intimate and romantic vibe with floor to ceiling glass windows, exposed timber beams and rustic hardwood floors. HASTINGS POINT HEADLAND // HASTINGS POINT
If beachside vows are more your style, the Hastings Point headland is one of the best locations to showcase our beautiful coastline. Located just down the road from popular venues such as Osteria and Fins Plantation House, you can tie the knot with direct ocean views as your backdrop.
There are several grassed areas to choose from, and you’ll need to get in touch with the Tweed Shire Council to obtain a permit. BRAMBLEWOOD FARM // CAROOL
For an outdoor ceremony with an authentic country feel, look no further than Bramblewood Farm in Carool. Set amongst 300 acres of open pastures with scenic views to the ocean and valley, this blank canvas location is ideally suited for DIY weddings. LIONS PARK // KINGSCLIFF
Lions Park is the perfect location for beachfront ceremonies in Kingscliff. This secluded spot is surrounded by lush palms and pandanus trees, creating a relaxed coastal feel for your Tweed Coast ceremony – plus, walking distance from the amazing space at Babalou.

ARDEENA // CAROOL
Dreaming of a secluded ceremony in the hinterland? The sprawling grounds of Ardeena are something pretty special. At 1100 metres above sea level near the peak of Mt Carool, Ardeena is the perfect blank canvas for a romantic outdoor ceremony or elopement with breathtaking views of the Tweed Hinterland. OLD BOAT HARBOUR PARK // FINGAL
Situated in Fingal Heads overlooking the Tweed River, we love the Old Boat Harbour Park for an intimate waterfront ceremony. With ample flat grassed areas and sheltered leafy trees, the space is also ideally located next to a boat ramp, allowing you to transport your guests via the river for a truly unique experience (just like Bronte and Lewis at Ancora!).

SANTAI RETREAT // CASUARINA
Not just a luxurious Balinese-inspired resort, Santai Retreat is also one of the dreamiest locations for an intimate wedding ceremony or elopement on the Tweed Coast. With secluded garden corners and pristine manicured lawns, the park is also ideally located close to several reception venues across the Tweed Coast. As with all public spaces in the Tweed, you’ll need to submit a wedding application to obtain a permit for your ceremony at Salt. LITTLE COVE BEACH // CABARITA BEACH
Just below the famous Cabarita Headland and adjacent to Cabarita Beach (recently voted Australia’s best beach!), you’ll find a picturesque pocket of coastline called Little Cove. Let your guests sink their toes into the sand with beachfront views and stunning coastal surroundings. The space is easily accessible and protected from the wind, making it ideal for an outdoor wedding ceremony.
