Tobie + Andrew :: Osteria Casuarina Wedding Venue, Tweed Coast Real Wedding
“Andrew proposed during a trip to Hong Kong so when we returned to Melbourne, we started looking locally for a place to get wed. We knew the outdoors would need to feature in the day somehow so we took as many weekend drive opportunities as we could, scouting potential venues; vineyards, barns, restaurants – you name it. We even approached people on airbnb who owned properties with big paddocks! It seemed for a while there that nothing was working out so Andrew and I decided we’d look further afield, perhaps to my home town of Newcastle. The very next day after that conversation, I was scrolling through Instagram and came across an image of Osteria’s stunning garden. I sent it to Andrew (who was in Ireland at the time) and within the day we’d floated the idea with our parents, contacted Osteria and booked our love party for Monday the 13th of March! It was such a relief to meet Andrew in Europe with the news that we were all booked in. One of the best memories of that trip is sending our save-the-dates from an internet cafe just outside of Reykjavik, Iceland!
Casuarina Weddings was such a great resource for us. We began contacting the seemingly magical network of suppliers and vendors across northern NSW and the Gold Coast and plans simply started falling into place. Having never seen the venue personally, it was so nice to be able to rely on the experience of local companies when making decisions. We visited Casuarina for a weekend in November but aside from that, we worked with all of our suppliers remotely to get things organised and they did such an amazing job. From hire to entertainment to flowers to cookies – every detail was considered. Andrew and I could genuinely relax knowing that everything was under control. I remember thinking how awesome it was that the local area offered everything from neon signs to gelato carts!
Our friends and family from Melbourne loved the idea of escaping for some long weekend sunshine and couldn’t believe how close Casuarina is to Gold Coast Airport. It made the trip so easy for everyone. Some friends and family in Newcastle chose to drive up the coast so Casuarina ended up being the perfect meeting point. All of our guests were absolutely stoked on the mini-getaway and the quality of the accommodation options in the area. Being so close to everyone meant we could spend real quality time with our loved ones ahead of the big day.
Our #happilyeveraylett love party was genuinely the most incredible day! We were blessed to celebrate in a beautiful part of the world surrounded by our friends and family who had traveled from all corners of the globe to be with us. Despite the early rain, Casuarina turned on a perfectly sunny day and the team at Osteria ensured the event ran without a hitch. Ours was the fifth wedding in as many days at Osteria but the team worked with so much energy and professionalism, you never would have known!
We can’t recommend the Casuarina Weddings network enough. They made our dreams for a heartfelt, personal day full of epic food, wine and dancing come true. Andrew and I look back on the day and are so grateful for all the effort put in to make it truly reflective of us. Thank you!”
