Megan + Jack :: Whimsical Tweed Coast Winter Wedding at Summergrove Estate

Megan and Jack’s winter wedding at Summergrove Estate on the Tweed Coast was a joyous and intimate celebration. Katie from Arctic Fox Events brought the couple’s vision to life with stunning florals and elegant styling, creating a warm and romantic atmosphere, captured beautifully by Kirk Willcox Photography.

Check out this amazing wedding, and hear from Megan as she gives her insights and tips on her wedding planning.

ABOUT THE DAY //

Our wedding day was an incredibly perfect, intimate gathering on the first day of Winter.

With most of our guests travelling from the United Kingdom, New South Wales and Western Australia it was made even more emotional and memorable. We spent the week leading up to the big day reuniting and catching up, which included a casual rehearsal dinner where everyone was able to meet and mingle.

It was an easy decision to have a wedding that included 40 of our dearest family and friends while incorporating the traditions that hold meaning to us. Our weekday wedding provided a relaxed surrounding for everyone involved, allowing the time to soak up the beautiful location and picturesque views.

Summergrove Estate provided the perfect location for our intimate wedding, offering views, style, hospitality (and let’s not forget the food!) that made the day memorable. At every turn, there was a picture perfect moment and we are so happy we chose this place to be the backdrop to our magical day.

It was truly our dream day!

ABOUT THE STYLE //

The florals and styling were so important in creating our whimsical yet timeless vibe. The colour theme was soft and feminine with pops of blush pink and lilac that was almost Harry Potter inspired.

The transition from daytime to evening saw our reception space turn into a magical, candle-lit fairytale which we still can’t believe was ours. With the barn being quite a large space, it was our mission to create warmth which was well achieved with ceiling draping.

We had fantastic communication with Katie at Arctic Fox Events which really brought our dream day together, we are forever grateful to her wonderful team!

CEREMONY SONG //

Megan walked down the aisle to ‘Calico Skies’ by Paul McCartney. Jack’s all time favourite band are The Beatles, so it was an incredibly special moment to surprise him with an acoustic Paul McCartney song choice – We were both in tears!

FIRST DANCE SONG //

‘L.O.V.E’ by Michael Buble was the perfect classic song choice for our first dance outdoors under the festoon lighting.

DIY PROJECTS //

The invitations, menus and signage were all designed by Megan, which was a budget conscious decision that allowed us to introduce our own creative flair, style and personalisation.

An even more special DIY accessory was the ribbon on Megan’s bridal bouquet, which was hand embroidered with the date of our wedding day and adorned with a sapphire charm – gifted by Jack’s Mum for Megan’s 30th birthday ahead of the wedding.

FAVOURITE MOMENT //

There were endless moments of magic throughout the day! However, we both agree that walking down the aisle in the beautiful chapel was a moment in time we will never forget.

NUMBER ONE TIP //

Remember to keep it simple. Make it your top priority to stay true to yourselves as a couple and celebrate your wedding in the way that represents your love best.

Be sure to take time to stop and eat! The day really does go by so fast that you’ll find yourself missing out on the wonderful menu that you spent the last year or two perfecting.
