MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT // What the QLD/NSW border ‘opening’ means for you and your wedding!

If you haven’t heard the latest news, then you may not know that the QLD border has been partially ‘opened’ and the travel bubble expanded further south into NSW.

Some of your burning questions answered;

Can Queenslanders travel within the NSW border bubble?
Yes, Queensland residents can travel within the border zone.
This means a Cairns resident can travel to the Tweed and NSW border bubble as long as they have the correct permit (which can be downloaded for free from the QLD government website).

Can border bubble residents travel anywhere in Queensland?
Yes, those within the NSW border zone can travel throughout Queensland with a border declaration.
This means a Tweed resident can travel to Brisbane or further north to Townsville, as long as they have the correct permit (which can be downloaded for free from the QLD government website).

What does this mean for our Tweed Coast couples?
It’s the news that a lot of our Tweed wedding couples have been waiting for. This news basically means that you can now continue with your wedding plans knowing that any Queensland guests can safely get across the QLD/NSW border, without having to quarantine for 14 days on the way back in QLD.

What does this mean for couples looking to book a Tweed Coast wedding venue?
If you live in QLD, it means you can now travel freely into the Tweed regardless of your postcode – and see all of the venues in person. You can arrange your tours direct with our venues here.
Of course, our venues will still be offering virtual tours if that suits you better too.

We just wanted to say a big welcome back to our neighbours in Queensland. We can’t wait to see you at our Tweed wedding venues very soon.

We will also be holding our Tweed Wedding Trail, on January 17th 2021 – so any Queenslanders are free to register for free here.
