Laela + Thomas :: Country Lovin’ at Midginbil Eco Resort

We are so very excited to share Laela and Thomas’ gorgeous country celebration at Midginbil Eco Resort! The couple’s big day was relaxed, surrounded by their family and closest friends (and pet), and filled with so much love and heartfelt moments. Their special day gives us all the feels and we are so in love with everything about it!

Laela and Thomas chose a casual, country styled wedding and the dried flowers and earthy tones of the florals and decorations were paired perfectly with the green foliage at Midginbil Eco Resort. The couple celebrated their ceremony on the top of the Midginbil hill beneath the spectacular fig tree with breathtaking views out to Mount Warning/Wollumbin. The party continued on with a live band and nonstops dancing in the country barn into the late hours of the night.

Check out the beautiful details from Laela and Thomas’ country wedding below including some tips from the newlyweds!

We were so excited to celebrate our biggest day with our families and closest friends at Midginbil Eco Resort. The great part about this venue is we have the whole place to ourselves for three days! 3 day wedding?? HELL YEAH!!

We have always been fans of getting out and about in the country so this was a perfect venue for us. There are so many great things about Midginbil but one of the best parts about this place is we were able to relax and chill with our guests on the Friday night so we didn’t have to run around the night of our wedding trying to catch up with everyone.

The day of the wedding just went so fast for us, I had a rather large bridal party so it took us all morning to get ready. Once we made our way up to the hill to say our do’s we were ready to party. Everyone made their way back down to the barn and upon arrival were served up gourmet hot dogs from an airstream food truck called Snoop Dawgs. The band started playing at 7 and didn’t stop till 11.

We had a very casual, country wedding, lots of dried flowers and earthy colours. I got lots of inspiration off pinterest. Once you confirm with Midginbil the also send you through an information pack that has FAQ, places to hire things from and recommendations. Midginbil has also set up a brides facebook page where all past and future brides could send inspirations to each other!

Maroon 5- Sunday Morning When we first got together Tommy played his favourite song to me (which was Maroon 5) and I almost died as I have always said Sunday Morning would be my wedding song! I knew then I was going to marry this guy!

Lior This Old Love. I think the lyrics will explain why we chose it, “We’ll grow old together”

We requested all our family to send through their wedding photos (we had photos from the 1940’s till now) and we put all the pictures up in the barn in a family tree style. We created our own photo booth- we had tinsel as the backdrop and a polaroid camera. We decorated the tables ourselves.

Sounds cheesy but saying “I do”

All the planning that had been put into the day finally saying I do was just a fantastic feeling!

Be very organised! I couldn’t stress enough having a run sheet (have everything timed to the minute) not only will you be less stressed you’ll also make the people helping you & the vendors less stressed too! No one wants a stressed out bridezilla on the day! Also accept help, its okay to say yes!
