Where to Get Married on the Tweed Coast
The first step towards planning your Tweed Coast wedding will be deciding exactly where you want to celebrate!
The Tweed Shire is a picturesque pocket of Northern NSW, spanning from the village of Murwillumbah right up to the QLD border. When it comes to getting married on the Tweed, we have the perfect mix of coastal and hinterland venues to choose from – all just a stone’s throw away from Coolangatta airport.
If a beach wedding is more your vibe, you’ll want to check out the coastal towns of Casuarina, Cabarita and Kingscliff. Or, if you want to get hitched in the hinterland, you might be drawn towards locations like Carool overlooking the Tweed Valley.
Our annual Tweed Wedding Trail is the perfect opportunity to tour each of our venues and meet local suppliers as you explore the region. If you can’t make it in person, you can also check out our virtual venue tours here.
Don’t forget to check if your venue has the correct permits to be hosting weddings, too. We’ve seen first-hand how devastating it can be when wedding plans are cancelled due to unapproved venues falling through. The good news? Each of our handpicked venues here at Tweed Coast Weddings have all of the correct approvals and permits to host weddings.

Ceremony Locations on the Tweed Coast
Something else to think about is where you’d like to host your wedding ceremony. Most of our venues have stunning ceremony locations on-site, but you also have the option to host your nuptials on one of our beautiful beaches, scenic headlands or sweet chapels. We have some incredible ceremony spots to choose from – in fact, you can find our top 10 ceremony locations on the Tweed Coast here.
When it comes to hosting an outdoor ceremony, don’t forget you’ll need to get in touch with the Tweed Shire Council to obtain the correct permits. For more information and to download a wedding application form, check out the Parks, Gardens and Reserves page here.
